I’m somewhat new to following Wasabimon!, but from what I’ve seen so far, it has the potential to be a great gluten-free resource. Wasabimon! is written by Stephanie Stiavetti, a food writer living in San Francisco. Her mission is to take everyday foods and make them edible by anyone, regardless of dietary restrictions.
Stephanie’s recipes are diverse and not for the faint of heart — vibrant dishes like Uber-Hearty Oxtail Soup or Vegan Fried Squash Blossoms with Potato Pumpkin Seed Filling are plentiful throughout this blog. Whichever recipe you try, you’re bound to get something delicious, nutritious as well as something that was made with gluten-free ingredients in mind. What more could one ask for?
Since following Wasabimon!, I’ve been amazed at the diversity of Stephanie’s recipes as well as the diversity of her posts. It’s a little bit of the everyday food that she mentions as well as a little bit of the exotic — a great combination to keep things interesting.
Thanks so much for honoring me by featuring me on Celiac Handbook. I’m so glad you appreciate the work I’m doing on the site (and in the kitchen!).
I’m a diehard fan of Wasabimon (and I’m not even gluten-free) and I can attest to the fact that Stephanie’s recipes are excellent. She also wrote an article about having a gluten-free Thanksgiving for NPR last year that was phenomenal. Excited to see her featured here!
It’s terrific to see Wasabimon mentioned here! I do not have g-free needs, but I love the writing. I love the recipes. And, I really LOVE the photos and graphic feel of her site. Alas, I tend to browse food blogs during my lunchtime, which usually makes me sad about what’s on my plate. :o)
Sometimes, I seriously wish for a Star Trek replicator that could magically put what I see on the screen on my plate.
You think anyone is working on that?
What a great resource! With interesting recipes. Love it.
Wasabimon! is such a great resource for recipe ideas. And the photos just leave me hungry. Even though I’m not GF, I check out the site for cool ideas–have you seen the macarons? I’m still working up the hutzpah to to make those.
I am a BIG fan of Wasabimon! even though I am not gluten intolerant. I so enjoy Stephanie’s lively writing and all of her interesting recipes. And her photos are enough to make me drool each and every time.
Who says gluten-free is boring? Nothing is boring on the Wasabimon! site–including its author. Exciting food and very clearly explained with excellent writing.
Thank you Stephanie for the great blog. So happy to post it here.
I love Stephanie’s blog not just for her adventurous recipes and the fun writing style, but also for her beautifully colorful photos. :)
I’ve followed Stephanie’s blog for a while now — and it’s an excellent resource for all cooks. Highly recommended.
I’m a fan of Stephanie’s blog and often check there for recipes before planning a meal. Also, I enjoy her interviews.
I’ve many friends who are gluten free so I often pass wasabimon’s recipes on to them. The pictures themselves are so enticing that they’ve won her many fans! Glad to see her here!
Stephanie has been an invaluable resource and well-spoken educator on just how easy – and tasty – gluten-free cooking can be. She’s really opened my eyes on the topic and even though I don’t have any allergies myself, I’m now ready and happy to adapt for my less-lucky readers.
