Feta-Stuffed Greek Meatballs
with Homemade Tzatziki Dip
from Life As A Plate

I’ve always been a big fan of Greek food, but it’s always something I forget about. That being said, I don’t eat it nearly often enough. I grew up with some Greek neighbors and always enjoyed Gyros, Stuffed Grape Leaves, and their amazing Keftedes (Greek Meatballs). I was always teased as a kid when I’d inevitably eat close to 20 of them. My friends Mom would always ask where they went — everyone would then look at me, the only non-Greek in the room and giggle. I’m pretty sure most of what was said about me was good, but you never know.

I was really pleased to see this Greek meatball recipe from AndreAnna of Life As A Plate as it brought back some memories of my childhood. So much of the time, food brings back memories for me — thankfully most of them are good memories.

This week I picked up some fresh fennel and decided to create my own Greek meatball and what better way to eat Greek meat than with homemade tzatziki? I was truly surprised how easy it was to make and how delicious it was! And because I can’t do anything simple and plain, I decided to stuff the meatballs with a small square of feta cheese.
