Easy, Grain-Free, Nut-Free Flatbread

What is the food that you tend to crave?

For some people it’s bread. For others it’s sweet, sugary items. I’ve always veered toward the latter. While I don’t crave bread, the simplicity of grabbing a sandwich or a slice of pizza is not an option when following a grain-free protocol.

It typically isn’t a problem for me, but there are definitely times when I would love a pizza or a piece of bread with my meal. Luckily, there are many ways to make grain-free bread that tastes good, is healthy, and easily replaces regular bread.

While I’ve previously posted grain-free bread recipes using almond flour, I wanted to create a recipe that was also nut free. Nuts can be difficult to digest for a lot of people, so this flatbread is a perfect solution.

It’s super easy to make and only requires 5 ingredients! In place of regular wheat flour, I use potato flour and tapioca starch. The consistency is great. It is very soft, sturdy, and doesn’t crumble.

So, give this a try next time you need a good pizza crust or want something to take the place of pita bread. It’s great to enjoy with dips or just eat by itself. Feel free to add your own seasoning to spice it up the way you like!

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine all ingredients in bowl and mix together.
  3. Once it starts to form a thick dough, spread out on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. You may need to wet your hands or add a little water to the dough for easier spreading.
  5. Sprinkle with sea salt and any other desired seasonings.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.

I like to brush with a layer of olive oil when it’s finished baking. Enjoy!
